WHATS MIGAJON?

Migajon is a traditional craft using bread paste dough molded into useful and decorative objects such as flowers, bridal decorations, rosaries and more. Thought to have originated centuries ago in Ecuador, migajon is a popular craft throughout South American and Mexico. Although frail in appearance, the Migajon dough is made from baked bread that dries hard and firm, enabling it to maintain its delicate look while being very sturdy. Hears a few samples of what can be made form it.

My preschooler brough home this recepy from school I though it would be fun to share with you. Check it out.

Home made PLAY DOUGH

  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1cup salt
  • 2 tbs vegetable oil
  • food coloring of your choise
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tbs cornstarch
DIRECTIONS
mix water, salt, oil, and enough food coloring
to make a bright color. Gradually add in flour and cornstarch
until the mixture reaches the consistency of bread dough.
If the dough dosen't come together in a separate small container
add 1/4 cup water & 1/4 cup salt ans a tiny bit vegetable oil.
Add water with a spoon little by little, and keep needing the dough.
You will end up with a kind rough dough, not as soft as store bough dough.
Store the dough in an air tight container.

I dint add the food coloring until the dough was made. I divided the dough in 3 equal parts then added the colors. Helps the little ones develop stronger motor skill. I like making the three primary colors red, blue, and yellow. Once I made the colors I divided them in to 3 equal parts as well. I store each color in zip lock bags. I like having my kids mix their own play dough secondary colors, and so on and so on. Then we get creative and make fun shapes. After all that dough needing use of hands and imagination they stay still for a wile. feel free to leave your coments and post pictures I want to see your little ones projects. But most of all

HAVE FUN WITH THE LITTLE ONES =0)
